A meandering summer road trip brought one night in the glorious Napa Valley.
My wife and I chose to spend it at the highly reviewed Oenotri, located at 1425 First Street, in downtown Napa. http://oenotri.com/
Oenotri is named for “the people of the vines” an ancient tribe of people who inhabited Southern Italy as early as the 11th century BC.
We sipped wine and nibbled on smokey/salty almonds while perusing their daily changing menu.
Oenotri offers 20 different types of house-made salumi and they move through an average of two pigs a week.
At the height of the harvest, each of the Fried Padron Peppers were as spicy as California’s heat wave.
Oentri’s passion for rustic dishes was apparent int the Fidei Alla Norma.
The Testarossa Pizza was prepared in a 100% wood burning oven imported from Italy.
Well done and cheers to Tyler Rodde, Daniel McCullough and Lauren Duncan. We look forward to dining with you again.
